July 4th 2010

Alejadro's first fireworks.

Thrush

I have had thrush and it is about to kill me. I itch, burn, and hurt. The wind hurts when it hits my breast. I have had this since June but not this bad. It is covering over half of my breast. I took meds back in June and I have been using nystatin ointment since Nov. then the doctors office gave me nystatin cream and a pill that you take once and then again in 48 hours. I am now using nystatin ointment again. The health department nurse said that if this doesn't work that I need to get checked for diabetes and rule that out. This stuff is painful I just want to rip my breast off of my body. LOL I called my doctor to get a refill on the ointment and they wanted me to come into their office but when I did they wanted me to pay for an office visit. They wanted 60$ but I just don't have it to give them. So they wouldn't see me and they won't call in anything for me so I went to the health department and they gave me something for this and recommened that I get checked for diabetes.

Family/OB appointments

1st OB app

10-6-09
Woke up at 12:30 had lots of cramping and pressure. Now it has eased up some at 2:02 am and has like a warm sensation go through my stomach. I have heartburn and lots of gas. Maybe the cramping is just gas and nothing more. I have spotting when I go to the bathroom but it is very light and I had intercorse sat or sund night. Spotting could be from that.

10-7-09
My stomach still has a bad cramp or pressure feeling to it. It is like the muscles aren't relaxing.

10-8-09
I woke up this morning and I felt my stomach relax. Thank God that uncomfortable cramp that had a hold on me all week let go. However, my stomach still has a queasy feel or achy feel to it like I have been sick. So I will continue to take it easy. I like this job, I could get use to it.

October 27, 2009 I went to my first OB appointment. They did a US and the babies heartbeat was 168. The doctor said that I am measuring at 9 weeks O days instead of 8 weeks 4 days. Everything looks good. I have had previous spotting and cramping so this helps. At least I know the baby is ok. Julian and Carlos went with me to the doctors appointment. October 6 and 7 I had spotting and cramping. The 8 I felt the cramping release but my stomach still has a queasy feel to it.

10-27-09
Went to doc discussed NT scan, no one in the area is qualified to do this test. B/P 102/70, Wt 265, Baby HB 168, my sonogram pic shows the baby as being 9 weeks. When I went to the doctor September 9, 2009 my wt was 267.

11-4-09
I have had a sinus infection since Sunday. Will be glad when this is gone. It is Dec. 3 and I still have problems with sinus drainage.

2nd OB app

November 24, 2009 I went to my second OB appointment today. I saw the PA because the DR is out on vacation. My appointment was for 9:30 and they changed it to 2:30 because I was going to have to see the PA instead of the DR. The PA was not able to get the babies heartbeat so she did a sonogram. She said the babies heartbeat was about 152 and she said that it was to cloudy/blurry to tell the gender at this time :(. I was so hoping she would be able to tell. The baby looked like it was in a bouncy house bouncing around. My 6 year old went with me she was excited.

3rd OB app

Dec. 2, 2009
Having slight cramping.

Dec. 22, 2009
Went to the doctor for an appointment at 9:10. He started out saying the it was a girl. Then no it's a boy. Then well looks like a girl. Then girl/boy whichever you are you need to move. Then it's a boy. If this is a girl I will eat my hat. Then we scheduled my appointment in Macon for a tier 2 US. I weighed 261 same as last month. B/P 100/70. Then I went for my blood work. They took 6 vials.

Dec. 28, 2009
I am having bad heartburn. It is so bad it hurts and I almost vomited from it. This is 12-30-09 and I am having the heartburn everyday.
4th OB app
1-04-2010 I have been pretty emotional the last couple of days. My two youngest kids have been off the chain since the first of the year. I am so tired today. I feel like I haven't slept in a week. I woke up at 5:30 and all I want to do is go back to sleep. I feel the baby move every day now. I haven't heard anything about my blood work or appointment in Macon from the doctors office yet. I have also been keeping really bad heart burn. It is so bad I almost vomited.

4th OB app continued

12-26-10
Went for my tier 2 US in Macon.
Baby's wt was 1 lb 2 oz and HB was 156. My wt was 263 I forgot to ask what my BP was.
He said due to my age that put the baby's risk of Down Syndrome at 1 in 70 but my blood work came back and changed that to 1 in 3000 however I had the US done and that put us down to 1 in 720. The only marker found was fluid in the baby's kidneys. He doesn’t believe the baby has Down Syndrome because they found no other markers.
Normal - no fluid
0-5mm mild hydronephrosis (benign variant)
5-10mm moderate hydronephrosis (benign) 3% will progress to >10mm (my baby at 5.2)
>10mm severe hydronephrosis (need surgery and kidney damage common)
Two causes of hydronephrosis:
1. UPJ Obstruction
2. Reflux
Steps we take:
1. F/U ultrasound in 12 weeks
2. If not worse - no more follow up needed.
3. If worsens - Renal US after delivery (10-14 days)
4. Dr Edwin Smith (pediatric urologist) @ Egleston Hosp. Atlanta (referral)
5. Order VCUG, test for reflux
6. 1-2 months after birth - MRU or MRV to test for kidney damage
If kidney damage possible kidney transplant. He said the doctors would do everything possible to not have to take out the kidneys and avoid surgery.

5th OB app

I went to the doctor on 2-16-10. I weigh 264 1/2 and BP was 116/70. Baby's HB was 150. He said that usually if both kidney's have fluid then it clears up as pregnancy progresses and that they can do my next US at our local hospital but if it could be done here than why did I get sent to Macon to begin with. I will talk to DF and find out what he thinks about all of this and go from there. They scheduled me to go in on March 16, 2010 for my next OB app and on April 12, 2010 for the US and then on April 13, 2010 for them to hook some type of machine up to me to monitor the baby's activity level and heart rate. It is the same machine they use when you are in labor. I will go in twice a week for this appointment. I had the glucose test done today. They will have the results tomorrow.

6th OB app

2- 19-10
I finally got the results of the glucose test it was at 156. I get to go back and take the 3 hour test. I picked up the order for the 3 hour test this afternoon.

2-20-10
I went to the hospital lab to get the 3 hour test done. I got the results on 2-24-10 and they said I passed the test. I only failed the 1 hour test at 159 the other 3 blood results came back fine. I went in at 8:30 am they took blood. I waited on the results 85. Then they gave me a 100g tropical fruit drink. I had to drink this within 5 minutes and give them the empty container when I was finished and they started the timer. Then for the next 3 hours every hour they took blood. Then I went home.

3-1-10
I am having bad heartburn at this time. I am taking Equate: Maximum Strength Acid Reducer 150 mg tablets. I also drink a lot of milk to help with heartburn. I keep hearing that calcium makes it worse but it feels as if it is helping. I still have bruises on my hands from the blood that was drawn on 2-20-10.

3-7-10
I helped Julian and Rito with the swing set for the kids. I tripped over the end of the swing set and fell to the ground. Baby is still pretty active, no bleeding or cramping so I guess everything is ok.

3-12-10
During fun last night I had a gush of fluid come out so I went to the doctor today. He said since I am not having any leaking that it more than likely was not the fluid. He is on call this weekend if we need him. Took my daughter (Esperanza) to the hospital today for her foot. The school called and said she twisted her foot during PE and the swelling was not going down. The ER said everything looked fine to wrap her foot and get crutches. I didn't get the crutches because she is walking fine on her foot.

3-13-10
Carlos slipped going up the ladder to the slide and fell. He bit his tongue pretty bad. He had little teeth marks on the top and bottom of his tongue. My 21 year old was watching him and said he didn't hit his head so I didn't take him to the hospital. I watched him for signs of hitting his head and he was fine.

3-15-10
I had to take my 16 year old to the doctor because she twisted her foot. She is the worlds worst for getting hurt. They wanted to do surgery on her foot to repair the ligaments but she opted not to have this done. So now she is always having ankle problems and ankle injuries.

3-16-10
I went to the doctor for my regular appointment. My BP 120/80, wt 266, baby's HB 154. He did tell me that I am measuring 34 to 35 cm. I wasn't sure what this meant but when I checked I found out that it should correlate to how many weeks pregnant I am. So I am measuring 7 weeks bigger. He looked at my test results to make sure everything looked good (no gestational diabetes). He found nothing wrong except something indicating my fluid levels are a little low and told me to drink more fluids. He said that after my 35 week US he will know more about the LO's size. He is leaning toward this one being a big baby. My last baby was 8lbs 1oz. I told him that my sister was 10lbs and I was between 8 and 9lbs.He did say that I don't want to have one that much bigger. I have been having BH contractions since I tripped over the swing. The doctor didn't seem to be concerned with the contractions or my poor achy hips. They hurt sooooo bad that I have trouble sleeping at night.

7th OB app

3-19-10
I decided to look online and find out what could cause to much amniotic fluid and found that to much fluid could be a sign of a problem with the baby's kidney function. I had thought about going to the hospital on the 12th for the US because of the baby measuring so big and was afraid that maybe I had the due date off. If I got pregnant in July that AF was July 15 and that would put me at 35 weeks. So I was thinking that maybe this was a possibility and I would have the baby the week I am scheduled to go to Macon. However when I found the info about to much amniotic fluid I decided to go to Macon just in case it has something to do with the baby's kidneys. I don't want to chance anything. My OB doctor didn't seem to be worried at all and he should have known that me measuring big could be a result of the baby's kidneys malfunctioning. I am going to do what I am most comfortable with and that is go to Macon. I am pretty sure my due date is correct because I was temping, using OPK, and checking for ovulation signs.

3-31-10
Woke up at 1 am due to hip pain and went to the potty. I went back to bed at 1:30 and couldn't go to sleep. The LO had the hiccups and I guess he was getting mad because of them and would flip himself around and kick like crazy. I finally went back to sleep at around 2 am. Today is Jacobs birthday. He is my nephew and 16 years old now. They grow up so fast. It seems like yesterday that he and my 16 year old were in the back hallway sliding through the lard they rubbed on the floor.

4-1-10
Today is my big boys birthday (Carlos). He is 4 years old. DF and I talked last night about the little one and what if he has kidney problems. He doesn't want to cut another baby open to save a baby. I would do whatever it takes to save my little mans life but daddy is looking at this a little differently than mommy. I try not to think about it because every time I do I want to cry so I try not to talk to him about it. Not to mention we have such different view points on this that we argue over what should be done. He did say that this would be hard on us if we lose the baby after he is born. I have been hoping all along that daddy will see that handsome little face and agree with me that we need to do what ever it takes to keep him alive and with us. He also asked if I had decided on a name and I told him no but we needed to soon. We only have 9 weeks left. We go to the doctor in Macon on 4-20-10 to find out about the little mans kidneys.
